The Chemistry Brand – Inhibitif Deodorant

Shaving or waxing under arms annoys you? Have you ever thought to get rid of all that armpit hair, but were too shy to ask? The last was a joke.)))))
OK, I thought of it, but somehow wanted to find something for legs and not underarms. Deciem’s deo was in SALE at that time. The promise of reducing hair regrowth in big letters attracted my attention. Why not? Said and bought.

The deo belongs to one of Deciem’s daughter brands – The Chemistry Brand. Seems to be that it’s a new version of an old product. Somehow it should be new, on the package they say it is with more advanced formula.

First it’s a roller in a minimalistic, laboratory style plastic container (like Deciem’s products usually look). Amount: 50 ml or 1.75oz

The solution seems to be colourless, but not sure. Has very fresh menthol scent I know not everyone likes such scents, but I found it quite OK. It isn’t disturbing.

Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Isoceteth-20, Parfum (Fragrance), Saccharomyces Ferment, Propylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Subtilisin, Dihydromyricetin, Citronellyl Methylcrotonate, Dimethyl Phenylbutanol, Polyquaternium-37, Menthol, Menthyl Lactate, Sodium Bisulfite, Disodium EDTA, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Citral, Linalool, Limonene.

For those who care about it, pay attention: siliconesfree, parabens-free, sulfates-free, but contains PEG.

The promise ( from Deciem’s official website )

Contains high concentrations of multiple actives to minimise the need for hair removal under the arms whilst fighting odour. With daily use, the need to shave or wax will be reduced dramatically.

  • Visibly minimizes hair regrowth
  • Plant-based active molecules
  • Fights odour
  • Visible results from 2 weeks
  • Reduces irritation & redness
  • Targets ingrown hairs
  • Suitable for all skin types
My experience

I’ve been using this since a month or so, let’s say 4 weeks. Before writing this post I read many reviews to give me a better picture of the product and how others judge about it. What I read was a bit irritating. This little piece has its lovers and its haters. The lovers are full of praise, the haters do the opposite.
The main points of haters opinion or better, their experience:

  • leaves yellow or orange spots/stains on clothes and even on skin,
  • smells aweful,
  • doesn’t reduce the hair regrowth,
  • feels sticky after applying,
  • doesn’t fight odour and is not working as deo and so on.

According to the lovers, it’s the best deodorant ever and of course works 24/7.

Visibly minimizes hair regrowth – I haven’t noticed that. The hair grew like it grew before, but I’ve noticed a significant decrease of hair density.

Plant-based active molecules – Unfortunately the brand dind’t give any details, so I can only guess from the ingredients what it could really be.

Fights odour – Not really. If you spend the whole day sitting in the office for example, you’ll be the freshness itself. If you do much physical work or sport, then you’ll stink.

Visible results from 2 weeks – I’ve noticed only the decreasing of hair density.

Reduces irritation & redness – I hadn’t any at that time, so cannot judge this. But though it contains menthol I haven’t any irritation through this.

Targets ingrown hairs – I’ve usually got ingrown hair through waxing and not shaving. But I do not wax under arms, only shave, so cannot judge this point too.

Yellow/orange stains – No I haven’t any. I wonder what’s the reason for it.

Feels sticky and smells bad – Not at all. Nice menthol candy scent. Feels really nice on skin and exactly after applying gives enormous refreshing feeling which lasts for a couple of minutes.

Prohibit of sweating – Not really. The same like by odour. If you’re an office mouse – you’ll stay dry. If you plan to become an olympia champion – be ready for waterfalls.

Conclusion

For me it is an average deodorant, not even better than some from the cheaper mass market deos. And in my opinion too expensive for its performance. Will use till it runs out, but I don’t think I’ll buy it again. Maybe only in urgent case, if there won’t be any others by the hand.

The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Hair Serum

20200716_164852

I was struggling with heavy hair loss for many months as I watched a review on YouTube about an innovation from the Ordinary helping against hair loss. The girls spoke so enthusiastically that I thought why not try it, maybe this one will help me. To be more certain I watched some other reviews on YouTube and all of them were positive. Said and done. I became a happy owner of this „wonder“ serum.

First of all, what is it?

This is for the momement the only one product in the whole TO range for hair care. It’s a lightweight transparent light-beige coloured and unperfumed serum. Main tasks: increase the density of hair, restore it’s health, for more fullness. I extra looked at Deciem’s official page, there’s nothing about preventing or stopping the hair loss.

The formulation is based on:

– different types of peptides: Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 and Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3, both are often used in remedies against hair loss by blocking enzymes responsible for the loss.

Peptides are protein chains which are performing several tasks, but in cosmetics they are often used as stimulators to generate skin’s own collagen and elastin production for firmer skin.

– a lot of goodies of plant extracts, like. larch wood extract and tea leaf extract, baikal skullcap root extract, wheat germ extract, clover flower exract and pea seeds extract.

– plus caffein a well known ingredient in anti-age, anti-cellulite, anti-puff-eyes cosmetics. But it seems to be, it can help aganst hair loss by blocking substances which are responsible for hair loss.

It’s a leave-in serum. The manufacturer suggests to use it daily on clean, dry scalp, preferably at bedtime.

My opinion

I haven’t used it daily, as suggested, but only on days when I washed my hair. I have long hair, so because of it, it’s difficult for me to wash and dry them, I wash my hair max three times a week. I applied the serum on scalp skin when it dried out at bedtime. I used it about six weeks or so.
I’ve been struggling with severe hair loss since about a year. I was seeking for a cosmetic remedy against hair loss and for more strength and density of hair.

What can I say? The best way to describe for me in pros and cons.

Pros:
– lightweight solution,
– quick full absorbtion
– unscented
– easy to apply with a pipette
– dark glass,
– no irritation
– no residue left
– big size, by 60 ml there’s enough for many months, but it depends on the frequency of usage.

Cons:
– high price, I bought by Douglas for 18,40 € (60 ml)
– no effect, that means no stop of the hair loss, no density, no fullnes. I saw the opposite, during the usage of this serum I lost a lot of hair.

Maybe, this is effective only by daily use, I don’t know. This was only the individual reaction and I’m not going to blame TO for its uneffectiveness, but shame of the money.
