I just wanted to repost here one of my old posts from my old and now closed blog, because I loved that product and thought my review could be helpful for someone. But then was faced with a dilemma – is it appropriate nowadays? To be exactly it’s about Ukraine war.
What’s about?
That post.

I wrote a post about one of Annemarie Börlind’s eyecreams I liked very much. Annemarie Börlind is one of the Germany’s renowned cosmetic brands with big hystory, a large consumer group and excellent quality of course.
As I was about to copy the post for this page I noticed that something was not OK.
I saw the packagings of the product and knew what it was.

It was this

ZZ – the latin letter Z it was.

For you, who still don’t know, it’s an unofficial symbol in Russia for the military operation in the Ukraine. Patriotic Russians run around with this symbol on clothing, cars, bags et cetera everywhere and of course to demonstrate for their country. That symbol now is so common among them and if you meet a person (even out of Russia) with that symbol, you know immediately he’s supporting the military operation of Russia in the Ukraine.
What has Annemarie Börlind’s ZZ cosmetic line to do with all this?
Nothing, of course!
Some of Annemarie Börlind’s cosmetic lines have double letters signs like ZZ and LL. And it is on the market since 100 000 years, I know…
It’s not about the brand, it’s about how sensitive became our society after the war in the Ukraine broke out.
When some people, specially Ukrainians, see that symbol, for them it’s a symbol of barbarous aggression and then they become angry.
As for myself:
I am not Russian
I was never in Russia
I had no business with Russia
I simply want to post my review
but
am afraid
people will misinterpret this!
What is to do at that point?
What do you mean?
